Langerado Festival Cancelled, Additional Orlando Show Announced
The 2009 Langerado Music Festival has been cancelled. According to the Langerado website, ticket purchases are scheduled to be refunded within the next 5-7 business days.
However, Death Cab for Cutie will still be coming to Florida, having announced today an additional show in Orlando at Hard Rock Live on May 7th, 2009. Tickets go on sale for this show on Saturday, February 7th; fan club pre-sale begins February 5th. Find the most current tour and ticket information on the Death Cab for Cutie SHOWS page.

We are very pleased to announce the launch of the Death Cab for Cutie iPhone application.
This application is free and features 8 full DCfC songs, the latest news, videos, tour dates and more. A few of the most unique features of this application are in the SHOWS section where the tour dates are sortable by distance from your current location and by date, there are driving directions from your current location to the concert as well as the latest concert details and ticket information.

Death Cab for Cutie Videos
We wanted to let you know that we recently had to pull down the Death Cab for Cutie videos for "Cath...", "I Will Possess Your Heart", "Soul Meets Body", "Crooked Teeth" and "I Will Follow You Into Dark" because we were using the YouTube video player to display all video content on our website and these videos are no longer available on www.youtube.com.
The removal of our videos caught us by surprise but we are building a new video player so that we can get these videos back up on the website as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding and for being patient while we sort everything out.

Dark Was The Night
From the Dark Was The Night album, recorded in support of the Red Hot Organization, Ben Gibbard teamed up with Feist for "The Train Song." You can stream the track online today at the Dark Was The Night MySpace page. More information below and at http://www.darkwasthenight.com/.
Dark Was The Night will be released on February 17th, 2009. Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National produced the album, and John Carlin, the founder of the Red Hot Organization was the executive producer. A total of 32 exclusive tracks have been recorded for the compilation. It will be available as a double cd/triple vinyl/download and will benefit the Red Hot Organization and their mission to raise funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS. Red Hot was founded on the premise that even without a cure, AIDS remains a preventable disease – and music is a great vehicle to raise money and awareness for it. This is the 20th year of Red Hot, and this is the 20th release!

This video of the Daytrotter Session recorded at Studio X in Seattle was directed by Alex Simmons. All proceeds from (RED)WIRE go to fight HIV and AIDS in Africa.

New Shows: Australia 2009
After their sold out tour in August 2008, Death Cab for Cutie has announced their return to Australia in 2009 for a run of dates this February. They kick off the tour with an outdoor show in Fremantle, and then head to intimate theatre surrounds in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
