Ben Gibbard To Perform at 826 Benefit in Chicago on 8/24!
26CHI and JAM present REVENGE OF THE BOOK EATERS, a night that brings together songwriters, authors, and comedians for a rare literature-meets-music event, with BEN GIBBARD (in a solo acoustic performance), JOHN RODERICK (of The Long Winters), DAVE EGGERS (best-selling author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius), IRA GLASS (host of public radio's This American Life), and ZZ PACKER (author of the critically-acclaimed Drinking Coffee Elsewhere) and in an evening that promises once and for all to settle the debate: words or music—which is better?

Be sure to tune into VH1 Classic Friday, July 21st at 8:00 PM ET/PT to catch Death Cab for Cutie perform as special guests of Elvis Costello on the “Decades Rock Live” concert series, which celebrates artists from rock to soul who have influenced popular music over the last 50 years. Watch Death Cab perform "Accidents Will Happen" with Elvis as a duet, as well as "Kinder Murder," "I Will Follow You into the Dark," and two songs from the encore. Other special guests include Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and Fiona Apple.

The video for "I Will Follow You into the Dark" is not only finished but you can stream it this very second here or on Yahoo! Music. It was directed by Jamie Thraves who is best known for Radiohead's "Just" and Coldplay's "The Scientist" videos.

Death Cab for Cutie: "Rolling Stone Originals" and “AOL Sessions”
Death Cab for Cutie is all over the internet with not only one but two new live performances. The first is "Rolling Stone Originals" and it features Ben and Chris performing stripped-down versions of "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth," "Brothers On A Hotel Bed" and "Photobooth." You can watch the performance on rollingstone.com and then click on over to Rhapsody to purchase the tracks.
The second is “Sessions at AOL.” Again it is Ben and Chris performing acoustic renditions of "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth," and "Sound of Settling." There are also some behind the scenes footage and an interview. It can be viewed here.

Pre-sale tickets for the L.A. Greek Theatre and San Diego Bayside shows were released TODAY at 3pm local time through Artist Arena.
Pre-sale Artist Arena tickets are still available for the San Diego show. The L.A. pre-sale Artist Arena tickets sold out really quickly, but you're in luck! Both L.A. and San Diego shows have another pre-sale coming up through Ticketmaster on Wednesday, 5/17. Check the SHOWS page for more details!

Tune in May 20th to IFC to catch “The Henry Rollins Show” featuring a performance from Death Cab for Cutie. “The Henry Rollins Show” is a new weekly independent talk show hosted by Henry, featuring high integrity guests, topics and uncensored musical performances.
