26CHI and JAM present REVENGE OF THE BOOK EATERS, a night that brings together songwriters, authors, and comedians for a rare literature-meets-music event, with BEN GIBBARD (in a solo acoustic performance), JOHN RODERICK (of The Long Winters), DAVE EGGERS (best-selling author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius), IRA GLASS (host of public radio's This American Life), and ZZ PACKER (author of the critically-acclaimed Drinking Coffee Elsewhere) and in an evening that promises once and for all to settle the debate: words or music—which is better?
