One reason to love Japan: Strange English. I walked past this sign for a companion bar and couldn’t help but smile at the hook line: “Delicate rabbits shine by your love weakly.” Why, doesn’t that make me feel powerful now? The poetry of sex, love and romance always gives me a chuckle. There are just too many creative ways to express this basic human emotion and I applaud every one of them. From Shakespeare’s “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” to Hustler’s “She looks ripe for a load of stroke juice.” and everything in between, I will always be a huge fan of trying to find the best way to verbalize human attraction. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.
